Corobrik recently marked a proud and meaningful milestone with the official handover of a newly constructed school hall to L.D. Moetanalo Secondary School in Mhluzi, Middelburg. The event, held on 23 July 2025, celebrated the culmination of a collaborative effort between Corobrik and the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality – a partnership rooted in the shared belief that education is the foundation of sustainable growth.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by local leaders, educators, and learners. Speaking at the handover, representatives from the municipality and the Mpumalanga Department of Education acknowledged the hall as a long-term investment into the lives of the learners – not just in terms of infrastructure, but in the opportunities it will create.

Corobrik believes in building more than bricks. Our commitment to community development means investing in environments that allow people to thrive. This new school hall reflects that purpose – offering a safe, dedicated space where students can focus on their studies, prepare for exams, and gather as a school community.

For many learners at L.D. Moetanalo, space constraints and difficult home environments have posed challenges to academic success. The new facility provides a much-needed boost, supporting the school’s continued commitment to excellence. In 2024, the school achieved an impressive 89.8% matric pass rate – a testament to the dedication of both its staff and students.

We hope that this hall becomes a springboard for even greater achievement in the years to come.

We extend our gratitude to the school leadership, the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality, and the community of Mhluzi for the opportunity to be part of this journey. Corobrik has proudly been part of South African communities for over 120 years – and it is our privilege to continue supporting the people and projects that help shape a better tomorrow.
